Story Time Part 2: Tammy

So let's continue the story of Tammy.

Last I posted Tammy is realizing she's not liking her job, one of the people she considered a friend and certain foods.

At this point Tammy has a few options.

Option A: She can rip the band-aid off and quit her job cold turkey, excommunicate her friend and ban all mildly spicy food from her diet.

This is a valid option, and we're adults here able to make decisions that best suit our needs. Every decision has consequences and rewards. Tammy's Option A rewards? She leaves toxic situations immediately. Tammy's Option A consequences? She'll be unemployed for a period of time, she may get backlash from her excommunicated friend and other peers, and she may hedge away from truly exciting new food experiences. Are the rewards greater than the consequences? That's entirely up to Tammy to decide.

Option B: She starts researching other companies and job opportunities, she may even feel comfortable with speaking with her manager. Tammy could have some tough conversations with her friend. Tammy may decide to talk to her doctor about her acid reflex and reduce some of her favorite spicy condiments in the future.

Just like Option A, Option B is a valid option. The pros and cons are all up to Tammy to weigh out.

The point of this whole example is that slowing down, taking stock and making logical, informed decisions can change your whole life. This whole world is full of people on the move, always with the "go, go, go" mentality that they never realize they are running in circles wasting time for something that isn't even a priority to them.

Slow Down.

Breathe.

Observe.

Record.

Research.

Then change the very course of your life.

Now proceed with a plan.
