Storytime: Tammy Part 3 and Conclusion

So I wanted to make sure I revisited the example of Tammy. I feel this is necessary because often examples leave the person on a cliff hanger type of ending or even worse the "happily ever after" that isn't a reflection of how life really happens.

So when we left Tammy was debating some decisions she has to make about her job, her friends and her dietary choices. I gave you two options in the last post, but of course there are a hundred different strategies Tammy could have taken. For example purposes I'm going to make some decisions for Tammy and we'll see what those consequences look like over the next three years in her life.

Tammy's dissatisfaction at her job was significant. After weighing the pros and cons and doing some research into herself and the economy she realized that her job lacked interest and that she would much prefer to work for a company with values that matched hers. After speaking with her manager during a planned meeting she learns that she can take on a special project but it wouldn't include any additional compensation. Tammy compromises and takes on the special project while she starts cultivating her network for potential future opportunities in different companies. After nine months of hard work she is recognized at her current company for the work she's doing on the special project. The project and Tammy's contribution is shared with others in her network and she receives a call from a recruiter a few cities away. The job pays significantly better and calls to her desires to work for a better company with higher values. Tammy accepts the job and after a year on the new job she can honestly state she's very satisfied with her employment.

Tammy's other area of concern was her friend. Tammy didn't feel comfortable with a direct confrontation so instead when she was invited out to be with friends she would confirm the guest list beforehand. The events that included the certain friend that was causing strife in her life she didn't attend. To counter her decreased social life with her current network of friends she started attending various social media events and gatherings by herself. One such event six weeks later she began dating again. Tammy's dating life continued with different relationships over the next three years. When Tammy moved to a different city for her job she was currently in a long term relationship geared towards marriage.

Tammy's last concern was her diet. Certain foods was causing her discomfort. Tammy borrowed a dietitian-approved book from her local library and began self healing herself with a better diet that was less heavy on fats and spices and focused more on whole foods and portion control. Because of her continual use of research and dedication to her wellness Tammy started feeling healthier. Tammy's routine doctor check ups had significantly better numbers and she felt full of energy for life. Three years later Tammy is still conscious of her diet and maintains a healthy weight.

This is of course just an example with a fictional character, but it also emphasizes the point that making small changes can have an impact in your overall life. Someone who started off life three years ago unhappy and aimless can change their whole outlook at life and become someone who is living the glorious life full of satisfying employment, fulfilling relationships and full of energy for life.

If you haven't already started your glow life journey. What are you waiting on?
